Now I want to be closer to the city and the Nimmanheim area which is where I spent most of my time hanging out at coffee shops, restaurants and with friends. It's a bit more expensive here as it's a cool neighborhood but I managed to find a nice room in a newer apartment for 6,300 baht ($210US) a month including WiFi. Check out the video tour:
If you're looking for accommodation in Phuket or Bangkok expect to pay up to double the cost for a similar room, but at least 50% more. Personally I really love living in Chiang Mai, but only because I've already checked out the islands in the south and have lived everywhere else that I wanted to check out first.
Where ever you end up in Thailand, rent will always be a lot cheaper than back home, plus it's fully furnished!
Good luck with your move, leave a comment if you have any questions or comments.
Warm Regards,
Johnny FD

Hey,I have been thinking of moving and training in thailand. My main income is from online gaming so I am wondering if you can tell are there differences in wifi reliability/speeds from region to region?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Your internet speed and reliability will have to do more with your actual apartment than the place itself. But in general islands such as Koh Tao or Koh Lanta will have bad quality internet. Up here in Chiang Mai my apartment's, have ranged from very reliable to down a lot. But then my office across the street has awesome, amazing internet. So it really depends on the place itself and your connection. But in general Chiang Mai is very good, and I'm sure Bangkok is as well although I haven't lived there.
DeletePhuket is okay as well, but again, it depends on the place. I would take your laptop and ping it before moving in.
