A bunch of guys have came up to me and told me that my blog was the reason they knew to bring their Xbox and PS3's out here and how happy they are that they did. As a reminder, if you do, make sure you look at the power supply to make sure it reads 110v-220v or use a power converter to convert it from the US 110volts to the Thailand 220volts. You can buy one for $20US. Most PS3s can handle both, but since the power adapter is inside you might have to do some of your own research first. For Xbox 360's it is easy, just look at the power brick.
Right now we have both a PS3 and a PS2 set up in the game room. The PS2 is the owner, Boyd's, so it'll always be there, so if you have a PS2, you can bring it and set it up in your room, or you can just bring some games. But the PS3 is Greg's and he's moving in a few days so it'll be gone.
Also make sure you bring two controllers! You can set up the system in your room or set it up in the game room for everyone to share. The best games to bring are 2 player games such as Street Fighter IV, MMA games such as UFC and downloadable games like Mushroom wars.
We've also been playing K1 on the PS2 as well as Fight Night Boxing. The other cool thing about having a PS3 is sharing your movies on the wireless network so people can stream movies into the lounge. We've been watching movies at night and it's a lot healthier and cheaper than going out to Patong to drink and party. Thanks Boyd for hooking up the gym with a couch and a game setup. Now all we need is a microwave!
Warm Regards,
Johnny @ My Fight Camp
Hey, thanks for all the info on your blog here. I'm likely headed down to PTT in a couple of weeks. Couple questions if I might: you mentioned before that the classes are small; how small are they in fact? Also, do you still recommend people bring PS3s now that there's the game room? Guess it can't be too bad an idea...
ReplyDeleteHey Terrence, glad you enjoy the blog man. I just walked out my room and did a head count for you - the morning Muay Thai class going on right now as 9 students and 6 trainers. The boxing classes normally have less than 8 students, MMA is about the same, and the Jiu-Jitsu class had about 10 from what I saw yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThe busiest class is normally the afternoon Muay Thai class that sometimes has 20 students.
The game room only has a PS2, the PS3 is Greg's who is moving into a house and bringing it with him the day after tomorrow, so definitely bring your PS3 and two controllers. Just double check your power supply or pick up a voltage converter, his worked fine and he's from the U.S. but I wouldn't want anyone burning out their power supplies just in case.
Awesome dude, I will bring the PS3 and some Call of Duty and Street Fighter IV (I'm terrible at both because I never have anyone to play with!). My PS3 was purchased in Hong Kong which has the same power as Thailand, will just need an adapter plug.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to add one thing for anyone reading this post: Remember to bring an AV Component Cable! I was dumb and only brought my HDMI cable, because that's what I use back home. Of course back home I have a big modern flatscreen, but here in Thailand most of the TVs are still analog! So today I had to go to the mall and pay 1500 Baht (almost US$50!) for a component cable which in the US costs like $20 at WalMart. Just some extra advice!
ReplyDeleteIndeed thanks for providing necessary information. I really appreciate to u,all are such a good information.Thanks................
